Welcome to BushRubberStamp.com
Welcome to BushRubberStamp.com, the web site launched by the Courage Campaign that empowers you with information exposing Congressman David Dreier as one of George W. Bush's most reliable rubber stamps in Congress.
You may be surprised to know that -- according to Congressional Quarterly -- David Dreier has voted with George W. Bush's agenda approximately 93.6% of the time, from 2001 to 2007. Not only is this out of step with the values of California's 26th Congressional District, but it is completely contrary to the "moderate, independent" image that Dreier has slickly crafted for the last 28 years.
Until now, Dreier has escaped serious scrutiny by an organization like the Courage Campaign. We're determined to change that with BushRubberStamp.com.
Look around, sign up for updates, watch our new TV ad, and please contribute to get this ad on the air in the district.

Todd,
It never surprizes me to find blogs as partisan as this one. Please supply me with your personal profile..age, ethnicity, religion, political affiliation....you know...all the stuff I need to personally attack you! (Wow, this rj’s a nut...).That’s exactly what your site amounts to..an attack ad!
Let’s dialogue over the issues..come up with solutions and move on down the road, let’s live and let live.
I await your response.

Calling someone to account for his own voting record is in no way a “smear.” If there is something about his votes that merits criticism (and in this case, there certainly is), Dreier has no one to blame but himself.
I am a resident of California’s 26th Congressional District and will be glad to see him go.

This is great! And there’s MORE! I also did some research on DD’s voting record:
David Dreier, a 27 year ultra-conservative Republican is out of touch with his constituents.
Dreier is a trust fund baby without working-class work experience. His last “job” was with his family’s “Development Company” in Kansas City.
Voted with Republicans 94% of the time and was an ally of the now disgraced Tom Delay.
Sponsored only one bill that became law in his entire 27 year tenure in Congress.
Votes against the middle class:
Votes against modest improvements in health care coverage:
Votes against bringing our troops home.
Votes against the middle class:
1) Sided against American homeowners and with sub-prime lenders by voting against the Neighborhood Stabilization Act, which allows states to protect property values by acquiring vacant, foreclosed home and rehabilitating them [H.R. 5818, http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2008/roll299.xml, 5/8/08]. On the same day, he also voted against the American Housing Rescue and Foreclosure Prevention Act, which provides mortgage refinancing assistance and will keep an estimated 500,000 families from losing their homes [H.R. 3221, http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2008/roll301.xml 5/8/08].
2) Voted to extend the Bush Tax cuts which primarily benefit the very rich (Vote 135 HR4297 5/10/06)
3) Voted against the repeal of tax cuts given to oil companies (Vote 40: HR6 (1/18/07). Voted for the Bush energy bill that gave $2.6 billion in tax breaks to oil and energy interests.
4) Opposed increasing fuel efficiency standards.
5) Voted against lowering interest rates on student loans (Vote 32 HR51/17/07).
6)Accepted $184,845 from energy interests.

Here’s More:

1) Voted against providing health insurance to children (Vote 906 HR976 9/25/07)
2) Voted against allowing the government to negotiate directly with drugmakers to lower prescription drug prices for individuals using Medicare (Vote 23 HR41/12/07).
3)Voted five times against allowing the re-importation of prescription drugs.
4) Received $431,990 from health care interests.

More on DD. He votes against bringing our troops home:
1)Supported the original authorization to use force in Iraq and voted against establishing a timetable for withdrawal of troops in Iraq (Vote 425 HR2206 5/24/07)
2)Voted against the implementation of many of the remaining recommendations proposed by the 9/11 Commission (Vote 15: HR1 1/9/07)
3)Voted to institute a number of changes in the ethics rules that govern the conduct of individual members of Congress in an attempt to retain Tom Delay, who had been indicted, as House Majority leader. (Vote 6 HR5 1/4/05).
IT’S TIME FOR A CHANGE

I am a resident of the 26th District and have also followed Rep. Drier’s record. One bit of information many have probably forgotten is that about a year or so ago, a survey showed that Drier’s chief of staff was the highest paid in Congress. I also recalled that the staff member shared the Congressman’s townhouse in the D.C. area. Just didn’t seem right to me. I also find the Congressman’s voting record an indication that he has been and is a follower and good party man, and not a representative of his district.

I’d forward this information to anyone I know who might vote for this career politician, but no one I know would vote for him. Where are all these closet Republicans? Or should I ask why Republicans won’t come out of the closet?

Two experiences with DD’s office 1. In the GOP’s last year in control of the House, they cut research into traumatic brain injury for Veterans, the signature wound of our troops in Iraq, by 50%. When I pointed this out and how evil it was, their response two days later was that it wasn’t really a cut; that two years previously, the amount had been doubled, so all they were doing was bringing funding back to the previous level! Support the troops.
2. During negotiations with Communist China, it was agreed that their vehicles, once they begin being imported here will face a 2% duty, while ours face a 25% duty. DD’s position? Anything that helps the American consumer is all right by him. Is this man aware that we, in addition to being consumers, also make things and that if we can’t also sell them , we’ll lose our jobs(see present day economic situation) and then not be able to consume anything? Of course, not. The man is an elitist, inside the Beltway good time Charlie, barely distinguishable, therefore, from an out and out traitor.
While I couldn’t care less about anyone’s sexuality, my first thought after seeing that Democrats for Dreier mailing was why not have one entitled, “Heterosexual’s for Dreier”? You know the GOP would be all over any opponent whose lifestyle resembled DD’s.
